Lukas Feireiss’ The Skyliners is an ensemble action film about a group of international elite, highly-trained architects, tasked with a mission to spectacularly change the planet’s surface and profile. It pays tribute to the infamous 1931 Society of Beaux-Arts Architects Ball in New York City, for which architects came dressed as the most celebrated buildings they had designed, and stars an array of internationally acclaimed veteran architects of recent decades. Allegedly, Thom Mayne of Morphosis Architects was personally offered a role as well, but turned it down because he felt there was no substance or development to the character. Wolf D. Prix of Coop Himmelb(l)au was asked to make a cameo appearance, but turned down the offer due to a previous commitment.
